How it works
Six people meet online for 60 minutes a week. Each brings something real that is coming up, rehearses it with trained peer feedback, changes one thing and tries again.
A session, minute by minute
- 0 to 8 minReality checkAnyone who faced a real moment that week reports back. Did the change we rehearsed happen? What was the result?
- 8 to 12 minDeclareEach person names their moment and their craft goal for the week.
- 12 to 48 minTriadsTwo groups of three. Each person gets about 12 minutes as the owner: brief, rep 1, a three-minute debrief, rep 2, a ten-second score.
- 48 to 56 minThe roomOne member takes their moment one level harder in front of all six.
- 56 to 60 minCommitEach person says what they will do for real, plus one rule in five words or fewer.
Sixty minutes. Everyone speaks at least twice. Nobody sits in the audience.
Every rep ends with a scripted debrief
- The person playing your counterpart says what they understood and how they reacted.
- An observer names one moment and its effect on your craft goal.
- The observer gives one change.
- You do it again with that change.
One change per rep, never five. You can act on one.
Feedback is receiver-first
The person who played your interviewer, investor or manager answers three questions, in the first person:
- What did I think you meant?
- How did it make me react?
- Where did I resist, lose interest, or become convinced?
Instead of: Your pitch should be shorter. Say: Thirty seconds in, I still didn't know what you wanted from me.
Instead of: Great job. Say: When you opened with the number, I leaned in.
Every member is trained in this before their first session.
The difficulty ladder
Practising with a friendly listener stops teaching you anything quite quickly, so rehearsals climb a ladder. You choose the level.
- Level 1GentleListens, asks friendly questions.
- Level 2Push-backChallenges one claim. "Why should I believe that?"
- Level 3InterruptionCuts in, changes the subject, short on time.
- Level 4Hostile panelTwo counterparts, sceptical, one pushes hard.
- Level 5Outside guestSomeone you do not know plays the counterpart.
You move up after two scored reps at 3 or above on your craft goal.
The 12-week cycle
Every member records the same three-minute task at weeks 0, 6 and 12: one minute explaining a decision others disagreed with, one minute handling push-back, one minute asking for something they actually want. No notes, one take.
The clips get a random code. Two trained raters from outside the pod score them on four things: opening and ask, structure, delivery, handling push-back. At the week 12 showcase, in the session, each member sees their own three clips side by side with the raters' scores. We never publish them and never rank anyone.
Showing up is the price of membership
Members commit to 10 of the 12 weekly sessions. Two misses in a quarter means a private conversation and a move to the waitlist, without public shaming. If life gets in the way, you can pause for a cycle instead of leaving.
